Rock of Cashel at the Tipperary Heritage Way

As I was completing the round below the Rock of Cashel. I came across a gated path which seem to go up the mountain. I wasn’t sure what to make of this place since there was a gate. I did see people walking down the path so I figured that it would be possible to walk back up. I was hoping this is not the exit that I am going through. The path here is the Tipperary Heritage Way. It is only a small part of the heritage walk here in Tipperary. I don’t think I would be able to complete the walk but at least I would be able to see a major part of it.

The Rock of Cashel is one of the major tourist attractions here in county Tipperary. I actually never heard of this place before coming to Ireland and I was pleasantly surprised to see the scale of this place. Walking up the Tipperary Heritage Way to the Rock of Cashel gives you a nice shaded walk to the entrance. There is a nice angle of the cashel from this side and I thought it was great with a wide angle lens. I wasn’t the only one walking along the walk, so I think it is not a secret path I just happened to stumble into. The cashel is fenced out and can only be entered through the main entrance which is conveniently at the top of the this heritage walk.
