Going Inside the Santa Maria de Montserrat Basilica

Even if we have already finished visiting the image of the Virgin of Montserrat, there was still the issue about vising the Basilica of Santa Maria de Montserrat. We only saw the basilica from the inside as part of the queue gave us glimpses of the magnificent basilica. This time was will go in the basilica itself. The path lined with candles leads to the small plaza right in front of the basilica. From here you just enter the basilica through the main door.

Immediately, you would notice how dim the basilica is. There weren’t a lot of windows here and it doesn’t help that the weather wasn’t that good. There were a lot of visitors here though most people would be here to visit the Virgin of Montserrat. Immediately, you would see where the Virgin of Montserrat sits. She is right there at the center of attention behind the altar. Even though the basilica is quite large, you can still feel the importance being given the image of the Virgin of Montserrat.
