Colorful Flowers at the Black Dragon Pool 黑龙潭
I realized that the Black Dragon Pool scenic area was quite large and it wasn’t just that particular point which is of interest. However, I can’t really help but feel let down after all that waiting. I came here to Yunnan dreaming of taking a photo of the famous scenery at the Black Dragon Pool but the weather just wasn’t as good as I hope it would be. The Jade Dragon Snow Mountain which should be clearly seen behind Black Dragon Pool is nowhere to be seen. My bad experience at the Shika Snow Mountain in Shangrila taught me a lesson about weather here in Yunnan. It would be best to come here during the colder months such as October and November. It might really be best since there are other places in the area which may be best visited during those months.

The Jade Dragon Snow Mountain is one of the most famous mountains in China and it is primarily because of its snow capped peaks. I can’t really tell from here since I can’t see the entire mountain at all. I considered visiting the mountain as well, but decided against it since I couldn’t see anything from the Shika Snow Mountain. Chances are I won’t see anything either from Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. Visiting that mountain is not a cheap affair either, one could easily spend CNY 500 visiting this mountain. I really would like to visit this area once again. I think it really has a lot to offer visitors.
