The wooden walkway on top of the Shika Snow Mountain was surprisingly extensive. It was also a godsend since it would be quite dangerous to be roaming around the fog cloaked peak without a path to guide the visitors. At 4500 meters, it is not a good situation to be in. Fortunately, that wasn’t to be. The wooden walkway allowed us a fixed path to explore the top of the mountain, while at the same time keeps the grazing yaks away from the visitors. It was quite amusing to see them, or rather hear them since their cow bells would be ringing in the fog.

I’ve got a nagging feeling that the fog was getting thicker and thicker since it was becoming more and more difficult to see in front. It was already difficult enough as it is but all we had to do was to follow the path, which apparently leads to the summit itself. So far the mountain has been a huge disappointment for me since there was no view to be seen and no snow either. I think it was because of the time of the year I decided to visit. From what I gather, the colder months might be a better time to come but roads may be blocked due to thick snow.
