Going Up Shika Snow Mountain 石卡雪山

My driver and I went through the Snika Snow Mountain entrance and soon, there was no other way but up. I don’t know if there was a trail to go up the mountain, but there are definitely no roads there. The solution was to take the cable car up. This godsend of a transport has served me well in my times of laziness. In this case, it is a necessity since the altitude of Shangrila was already that high at 3500m so the mountain will definitely be higher. I would be foolhardy for me to try to hike up the mountain in this kind of altitude without any training, maybe that is a goal for another time. There was a cable car station at the visitors center. We can see from the cableway working its way down the mountain.

I was rather pleased that there weren’t any competitors here at the cable car station, probably because it was still early. Besides, it was the rainy season so tourists aren’t that many. The cable car station wasn’t as modern as the others I have been to. I don’t know how old the cableway is but I probably serves its purpose. There was a lone local waiting at the cable car station and we eventually got to ride on the same cable car. I doubt she is just a tourist as I don’t see any cameras on her, probably a guide.
