Approaching the Perhentian Islands

Crystal Clear Waters En Route to the Perhentian Islands

I was kind of surprised to know how far the Perhentian Islands are from mainland Malaysia. Our trip from Kuala Besut jetty will take around forty five minutes, you need to remember to make sure to tell the boat man to let you off at a certain point. There are several ports here, so it pas to know where you plan on staying beforehand. Being first timers, I didn’t know much about this island, partly because it was my friend who brought up the idea of coming here. Good thing, he has already done some research so we knew where we will be going.

Approaching Perhentian Kecil

The sea was very calm here and the waters were crystal clear. Peninsular Malaysia has long since disappeared from view and we were approaching an island in the horizon. Our boat was moving so fast, that it is difficult to get a good shot of the sea or of the approaching island. It was only until the boat started slowing down that I was able to steady myself enough to take photos here. After almost a day of travelling, it seems we have arrived.
