Huge numbers of visitors notwithstanding, the lama temple was a very real place. Most of the visitors here are worshippers. You will see people bringing joss sticks into the temple grounds who no doubt paid a premium for those. The temple has all the features of Ming and Qing architecture, much like a lot of other Chinese temples I had visited in other places, but this is probably the first one I had visited which was this busy.

The Lama Temple’s basic layout is very traditional with hall after hall of temple, much like all the other temples I have visited, except this one has far more people. The grounds doesn’t seem to be that big, so I think this will be a short visit. Then again, it will might not be as fast as I thought it will be. There were a lot of visitors and there might be queues in the more important spots.
