Robinson’s Falls

The start of Jungle Trail 9 was easy enough. Much of the trail was well marked with most of the paths made of stone. Although some parts of the trail a bit dark and overgrown it was still quite easy. Afterall this was one of the easiest trails among the ones mentioned in the Lonely Planet guide. The trail goes through some thick jungle and follows the contour of the mountain. On my right was the stream I was following earlier on and has steadily been growing more powerful.

The terrain has progressively gone lower as I continued following the only trail down. I met a few foreigners who were either on their way to down or already on their way back. I figured I must be very late for them to already be heading back. As I continued to push forward, the stream has now grown into a more powerful torrent and it washing itself through the rocks in its way.

Finally as I ran out of solid stone trails, the streams suddenly drops into a small ravine and becomes a waterfall. This is Robinson’s Falls. The waterfall is actually quite narrow compared to the other falls I have visited. It is not that tall either. Regardless, I am always mesmerized by the sight of a raging waterfall. There was no way to get closer to the waterfall since there is deep revine in the way. I decided to play it safe since there was no one with me.

At this point you need to make an important decision, you can continue on to the rest of trail 9 or turn back. If you want to go through trail 9, you need to go through a metal gate, however it was deemed too steep and thus too dangerous so it is advised to bypass the metal gate and go around that part of the trail which will bring you through thick jungle.
