Leong San Thong

It is quite fascinating to be walking and just wandering around in the streets of Melaka’s Chinatown. Although, the shophouses here can be found in Singapore, these somehow have a bit more charm and authenticity in it. Probably because the people where are more likely to practice their centuries old traditions and customs. Whereas the people of Singapore are arguably more modernized such that the kids now are less likely to follow these customs and traditions.

Forbidding Doors of the Leong San Thong

Walking into a the restaurant lane a rather prominent structure – Leong San Thong. As it was closed (again) I can only surmise what the purpose of this structure is. Judging from its name, it must be a temple or a chapel of some sort. Leong San means Dragon Mountain, the Thong means chapel. I’m really getting tired of seeing all these site closed but what can I do? I guess I will have to make do with the facade.
