Feilai Feng Grottoes 飞来峰
One important component of the the Lingyin-Feilai Feng Scenic Area is Feilai Feng itself. The most important feature of Feilai Feng is the numerous Buddhist sculptures scattered throughout the mountain. The name Feilai Feng 飞来峰 means Flying Peak. Mountain is made of limestone and is distinctly different from the surrounding mountains. It was said to have come from India and flew here, hence the name. Due to its proximity to the Lingyin Temple, Buddhist sculptures can be seen throughout the mountains. Unfortunately, my friend wasn’t really keen on climbing a mountain, though I was dying to do so. The mountain wasn’t very high to begin with, I’m sure she would have been able to handle it.
