Of course, no place can be free from commercialism, Mount Faber is no exception to that. Further up the road is a group of restaurants called the Jewel Box, which I thought was a great name for a place like this. Just like a real jewel box, it can shine brightly in the night sky whenever someone looks as Mount Faber. When I went there, it was still day time and there restaurants were closed, which it also a good opportunity for me to explore the area.

Naturally, restaurants here tend to make use of the locations hardly found elsewhere in Singapore. Most of them are open air and have great views of the harbor. There is also a cable car station near this place and in fact, it is possible to have a romantic dinner inside the cable car if you so want. I’m not sure how that can work out. Do they have a time limit? Nevertheless, this is one of the more unique dining experiences in Singapore. Unfortunately, now the cableway is undergoing renovation and it may take a while before it is operational again.
