Whenever I get tired of the eating Asian food, pasta never fails to lighten me up. In Singapore, there is this chain of pizza places which we frequent. The name is Modesto’s. It is serves traditional wood fired and home-made pizzas in several branches in Singapore. It actually started in Kuala Lumpur and started to branch out from there. Now they have branches in Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore.
Whenever we eat here, we always order their 20-inch pizza. This is a huge thin crust pizza that was once advertised as the World’s Largest 20-inch pizza. Go figure. The pizza comes with standard stuff but you can always add more toppings to it. The pizza is big enough to satisfy three big eaters like us.
One time as we and my friends were eating there, we chanced upon this one guy who ordered the 20-inch pizza. Lo and behold, he wolfed down every single piece. I really felt like an amateur. I pride myself as being a big eater but this guy put me to shame. I could probably finish half of the pizza but definitely not the entire one.
The interiors of the restaurant have a very classy feel. With sprinklings of “Italian” stuff around like statues and paintings. It really is a well designed place. Service was also good. The waiters would immediately server another slice of pizza each time they see an empty plate.
Needless to say, they also have a nice selection of pasta dishes. I haven’t really tried all of them but I’m sure I would also be satisfied from eating those.
