Just across the Pasig River crossing via Jones Bridge is the massive neoclassical building that looks totally out of place in modern Manila. This is the Manila Central Post Office. The history of the post office dates all the way back to 1767 during the Spanish times, while the building itself is relatively recent having only been built in 1926. It occupies a nice spot along the Pasig River just across the stretch of Escolta. It certainly is one of the more impressive buildings in Manila which already has a surprisingly large number of colonial era buildings.
