One of the larger of the artificial islands of West Lake has an interesting shape. It is like a circle cut into quarters. The island itself is just a ring and the dividers of are land. The rest of the island is water. Thus creating four small lakes in the West Lake itself. When visiting Xiao Ying Zhou from the boat ride, one will probably not notice the layout of the island. Not surprising since it is surprisingly large considering it is just an artificial island. I probably won’t call the four lakes “lakes” but rather more like ponds.
