Approaching the Eiffel Tower

Majestic Eiffel Tower

It was surprising how much further the Eiffel Tower actually was from the Trocadero Station. It is because the tower is so tall that it is very easily seen and it gives you the impression that it is already there. When in fact you still have to walk a few blocks just to get there. Vistors coming from the Trocadero Gardens will need to cross the River Seine to reach the tower. Before that there were some interesting sights. There were a few snack stalls which offer some European snacks. One of the more interesting entrepreneurs where people who have two sports cars parked. There was a sign here that you can drive it for 89 euros. I was thinking that this guy probably won the lotto and bought the sports cars and is now trying to make money off them. Not that bad, but I don’t know how long the return on investment would be.

Unsurprisingly, people were streaming to the Eiffel Tower since it is Paris’ number one landmark. The weather wasn’t exactly very good as it was overcast and I didn’t get my blue sky. There was a ray of sunshine which penetrates the clouds and lights up the tower quite nicely. It wasn’t the entire tower but only the foot. I couldn’t wait for the entire tower to be illuminated since we were trying to make our way to it. On top of that, this is also a very busy part of the city. Getting run over by traffic while taking a photo is a real possibility.
