Walking the Champs-Élysées

Rainy Day at the Champs-Élysées in Paris

While wandering around in Paris I didn’t really have any idea of our location. Most of the time, I would study the map just to get an overview of where we were. However, I left all the navigating to my companions who were more than happy to wander all of Paris in search a of bargain. I don’t think it would be an easy task as Paris isn’t exactly known to be cheap. Perhaps the French brands would be cheaper here? If they were, I don’t think it was easy to find just by wandering around. It probably got even worse the more we wandered. We found ourselves walking along one of the world’s most famous shopping street – the Champs-Élysées.

When that name comes up, I would think of fancy French brand name shops of which I have no hope of owning. I think my friends also realized that this was not the place to look for bargains. The Champs-Élysées is one of the most well known avenues of Paris and it is understandably busy. It was somehow expecting the street to be a pedestrian street much like I have seen elsewhere but the road here is open to vehicular traffic. There were high end shops lining both sides of the street and we were able to visit a few of them. On thing that irked me what that you need to pay to make use of toilets. There were even fancy toilets that code a few euro to use. If you are the type who needs to go to the toilet often, you better be prepared to spend or hold it in.
