Going to Porte de la Craffe

Porte de la Craffe

Porte de la Craffe

I was glad that I was able to finally get in at least one historic building here in Nancy. For some reason, a lot of them seemed to be closed or at least really hard to enter. I don’t know if it is because of the pandemic that they don’t make open at all. I’ll just have to take whatever I can. Exploring the old town of the Nancy is quite easy. Most of the interesting places are all located along one street. Strangely enough, the street itself didn’t appear to be that large but you have the ducal palace as well as their church along this. I would have thought the street would at least be larger.

Walking Towards Porte de la Craffe

I was walking along this main street when I noticed something at the end of the street. It seems to be some sort of stereotypical castle with the pointed roofs. I have seen this type of structure elsewhere in France and I knew that this is a gate. It kind of makes sense since it is at the end of this street and you would want to have a gate to keep unwanted people out. It helps with the photography how the streets here are narrow. It makes the appearance of the gate rather surprising and interesting.
