Church of the Gracious Mother of God

For those who don’t know, Poland is a very Catholic country. Warsaw itself has churches almost every city block. It is not therefore surprising to see that the Old Town of Warsaw has a few large churches, considering how small the old town actually was. It was actually not that easy to notice the churches. I would usually expect churches to have a small plaza in front of it but the churches in the old town were just along the street and there was no other way to go but up. The churches were quite tall here to compensate for the lack of space in the town. One needs to keep an eye to see the churches in the old town.

One of the churches here in the old town is the Church of the Gracious Mother of God. One thing I noticed here in Poland was that the names of the churches can be quite different from what I was used to. This is probably the first time I have heard of a church with that name. Anyway, the church stands quite tall and it has a pointed roof which emphasizes the height of the church even more. The door of the church is rather strange. It has these figures of angels which appear to be embedded inside the door itself. The closest thing I could think of is that image of Han Solo when he was captured in Star Wars.
