Rooms of Bunratty Castle

Another Hall in Bunratty Castle

The Great Hall at Bunratty Castle was certainly impressive. This seems to be the place where the lord of the castle would entertain guests. The hall looks like it is meant to impress, at least it works for me. Aside from being a place to dispense official duties, the Bunratty Castle is also a residence. Various stairs from the great hall also lead to several other rooms. Unsurprisingly, the residences and more private parts of the castle can be found here. I was quite surprised to know that there were other rooms here since the great hall seemed to take up much of the space of the castle.

Creepy Bedroom in Bunratty Castle

Creepy Bedroom in Bunratty Castle

The first room I ran into was a bedroom. The bedroom itself is off limits to visitors since there is a fence keeping visitors away from the exhibit. There is a four post bed which obviously for sleeping. There are other items here which seem to imply that the occupant of this room was a woman. There was another piece of furniture here which looks like a crib, but I wasn’t sure. The room was dark with very small windows. I don’t think I would want to be living in this room. In fact, as can be seen in the photos, the bedroom looks downright creepy. There were efforts to lighten up the mood here like picture frames but the way it is right now, I don’t think anyone would have lasted here. A light must have been lit here constantly to keep them from going insane.
