It has been a while since I last went on tour, I made it a point to be a tourist in my whirlwind tour of the south of Ireland. The Bunratty Castle and Folk Park is my first stop and it wasn’t exactly a very good start what with the rain trying to dampen my spirit. Rain is something I have come to expect here in Ireland, so one would just have to expect rain. If the sun shines, then it is a bonus. The Bunratty Castle and Folk Park is a well organized park build around the castle. The folk park exhibits the life of the Irish before modern times.

What was probably most amusing was when I first entered the folk park was that there was a small pen where there were goats. The goats were making their meh sound and it was brought a smile to my face. I thought it was a nice touch to have farm animals here. They don’t have the big ones like cows but I saw some goats roaming around the grounds. There were chicken as well but that is probably nothing very special to me since I grew up with live chicken along the streets. The goats seems to be very tame and they are very used to people, even letting people feed them. It seems that they have an insatiable appetite and can be seen eating something all the time.
