Times Square at Night

I didn’t get to travel much over the rest of the year but I think I started out the year with a rather surprising trip. We were told to go to the United States for series of meetings. While I normally abhor very long meetings, I would be going with good friends so I thought it won’t be that bad at all. I knew the people we were going to meet with and some of them I only met on video calls, it was nice to finally see them in person. The meetings weren’t as horrible as I feared. I looked forward to eating after the end of the day. Since we don’t get to eat that kind of food back home. Anyway, we only got around to sight see after the meetings. One of us has never been to New York City so we thought it would be nice to bring him there. We dropped off the company hired car at the airport and took the train to New York City, we would be spending a couple of nights there.

It was January and it was cold, and the weather report says that there might be snow coming. Already that morning we had some snowfall but it was supposed to be worse the next day. My good friend and I were prepared for the cold and we were enjoying walking around the streets of New York. For some reason, our friend was ill prepared for the cold but we couldn’t really help him that much. Our accommodation was near Times Square, so our first port of call would be Times Square itself. This won’t be the first time we would be in Times Square, but it is still electricity in the air when visiting this place. Despite the cold, there were still a lot of people visiting. The streets were clear of snow so it was easy walking. The square was as usual lit up by a myriad of advertisements that reminds you that this is the city that never sleeps.
