Thoughts on the Gardens by the Bay

It wasn’t my first visit to the Gardens by the Bay. When I last visited the gardens were just recently opened. I didn’t have a camera back then so I just walked about the place and trying to remember what to see here since I knew I would be coming here eventually. The Gardens by the Bay are like a breath of fresh air here in the middle of busy Marina Bay. The Marina Bay area is a the focus of an intense redevelopment effort and it acts as the lungs of the new financial center. It is actually a nice complement to the multi billion dollar development that is the Marina Bay Sands.

It is best to explore the place late afternoon. There is a nice light and music show at the end of the day and it is one of the highlights of a visit to the Gardens by the Bay. One can just lie down underneath the supertrees and enjoy the light show much like how everyone else is doing it. On the downside, this place is rather close to the water and it can be rather humid here. There are also quite a few insects here and you would find yourself getting hounded by them no end. If you are the type who is ignored by insects then you will be in for a treat here. There are other domes here which I didn’t get to visit and I will probably leave them for next time since I know I will be back here.
