Exploring Coron-coron Beach

Really Dark Sand in Coron-coron Beach

It was an unbelievably hot day when I decided to explore Coron-coron Beach which isn’t that far away from Legazpi City. It is in a rural location and it is known for its black sand beaches. I thought that was very unique selling point and I can see why. The dark volcanic sand really stands out here against the bright sky. At least I won’t have glare coming from the ground this time compared to white sand beaches. There are a few places nearby but this is probably the most accessible one. It was way past tourist season as the huts were empty. Mostly empty, there was a local family having lunch at a hut. They warmly invited me to have lunch with them but I politely declined.

It reminded me how I was already hungry. I walked up and down the beach here trying to find a place to eat. There doesn’t seem to be any. There seemed to be another resort much further up the coast but it was already too far. I decided to just explore this part and head back to the city for lunch. The trouble with these very rural areas, is that there aren’t a lot of facilities here and food is naturally the biggest issues. Perhaps if there will be tourists all year round then restaurants would be more inclined to wait for customers.
