I was glad that someone recommended that we visit the city of Hindeloopen. We changed our plans for the day and decided to follow the recommendation. We still have another day to do exploration, so I think we have some time. I think this is something worth visiting since the locals recommended it and not just some tour agency. Hindeloopen is a city on our way back to Amsterdam. It is a very picturesque city and there seems to be a lot of photo opportunities here. It was a shame that we weren’t here during tulip season or it would have been even better.

The houses of locals here look quite traditional and they tend to look a like. I think that is the particular style here in the Netherlands especially in the smaller cities and towns. This makes the city very charming. I like how they managed to keep the way it looks after all these years. I don’t think they can build very tall buildings here since the ground is soft. The tower at the Dutch Reformed Church leans quite significantly. I won’t be surprised if some houses also suffer from this problem.
