The staff at our previous destination recommended that we have lunch here at the village of Sloten. It also helps that she thinks that this is one of the most beautiful villages she’s been to. Apparently, the village of Sloten is not a village after all, it is a full fledged city and it is surprising when you see how small the city is. It is the smallest city in Friesland but arguably the prettiest. There is a lot of water going through the city and they make full use of it. Its proximity to the city of Lemmer make it an excellent biking destination.

We sheepishly parked out car away from all the cycling folk. I was admiring how pretty the place is. The houses were very well maintained and it seems like it is a very nice place to live in. I don’t know what kind of work I will have to take here to be able to live here but I guess as long as they have internet access I would be able to work remotely. The water is big part of the city and there are a lot of boats here. I think sailing is a fun activity which people would be interested in but I don’t see people doing that. There are sailboats though, I guess it might not be the time for that.
