Neuhaus

We were walking around the fancy Galeries Royales St. Hubert, which is apparently one of the world first modern shopping arcades. They have designer goods here but this is Belgium so they have designer chocolate too. The Galeries Royales St. Hubert has a list brand name chocolatiers. I honestly, don’t know most of them but that probably goes the same for me for designer clothes. The chocolate shops here were very tempting but I could only choose one to try. One of the names which came up was Neuhaus. I never heard of this name but it seems they are one of the more well known brands here.

They have a nice display outside the window, but more importantly they have ice cream. I think it has been a while since I last ate ice cream that often and I think there is not better place to resume it than in Belgium. I had a very nice ice cream at a competitor’s shop and just wanted to try this one. The ice cream I got here at Neuhaus wasn’t as impressive though since it came in a small cup. I topped it up with beads of Belgian chocolate of your choice. I thought it was nice, but it didn’t have same impact as the previous ice cream did. I admit that I shouldn’t be too hasty to judge since they specialize in chocolate and not ice cream. I should try that one of these days.
