Belgian Waffles in Bruges

All this walking has made my hungry. I can’t remember the last time I have walked this much. My friend has a fitness track app turned on and it has already recorded a record number of steps for the day. I guess you can say that it is a good thing that we can walk a lot for a change. We were at the Burg Square just after exploring the Basilica of the Holy Blood and we spotted a few mobile stalls. One of them was a Belgian waffle stand. I remember a very good friend of mine saying that the waffles here are as big as her face but I still haven’t seen any of that.

The stall here is probably not the best here but I don’t think I care about that right now. I just wanted to try a waffle. Belgian waffles typically have fruit and sauce on top of it which makes for a tasty treat. I used to think of waffles as just pancakes with a different shape. Belgian waffles take it to another level. It is interesting how such a small country has exported this snack the world over. I had a more traditional waffle with whipped cream and strawberries. You can have different variations the waffles like caramel and others. As I expected, it wasn’t that nice, the waffle was not that hot even though it was freshly cooked, go figure.
