Going to Bruges

As I have previously said, I didn’t get the chance to plan this trip very well because of work. I did manage to get a day off to apply for a visa but that was it. Work was so hectic that I didn’t even get to think about this even the night before the trip. If the day didn’t actually come I would have probably still be at work until now. Anyway, I was glad to be able to get a few days off. It has been very hectic and I think I deserve a little time off. Well, as for what we would be visiting. I only have a general idea of what to visit here. Most of them were anchored on UNESCO World Heritage Sites, of this, Belgium has a few of them.

We will be going to the Historic Town of Bruges or Brugge if you prefer French. We took the train from Brussels Midi station to Bruges which is more than an hour away. It was good that the train wasn’t full and we can choose wherever we want to go. There doesn’t seem to be any need for a car here since transportation is very convenient. The trains were nice and clean. There was no entertainment on the train apart from our phones. I had a local sim and I was able to do a little surfing. This was useful for us since we will have access to Google Maps which immensely helps in train schedules. I was careful not to use it too much since we need it to get back to Brussels.
