Latin Quarter Wine Bar and Bistro

We came all the way from Galway City to visit the Cliffs of Moher which were in the neighboring county of Clare. That being said, the drive was still significant. I wasn’t the one driving but I didn’t want to volunteer since I was already tired myself. The drive back was still an hour an a half away. I couldn’t sleep in the car either since I was helping to navigate and at the same time keep the driver awake. It is times like these that I’m glad I keep flunking the driving test. We were trying to make our way back to Galway City hopefully in time for dinner. We just hope that the traffic won’t be that back coming back.

We safely made it back to the city and we were right in the city center. We didn’t really had any plans on where to eat so we were just walking along the shopping street to find out what is there. Fortunately, we managed to find a place online which happened to be nearby. This was the Latin Quarter Wine Bar and Bistro. It was a small two story place. I noticed that there weren’t a lot of seats here which I wasn’t sure is a good or a bad sign. There were a few patrons as well. It seemed fancy and I’m not one for fancy places to eat but I was hungry.

The Latin Quarter Wine Bar and Bistro seems to have a different kind of menu, far different from the normal dishes I see in Ireland. I went for the pigeon dish. I forgot what the dish’s name was. I had another look at the menu online but it has already changed. I never had pigeon in a western restaurant before so I was curious how they would prepare it. The bird is expectedly small as was the serving. The pigeon was roasted but still not too gamey. Given the amount of food I managed to get from it I probably would have gotten something else. The place is actually very nice and nice for a date or just drinks. I would love to try their other dishes here.
