Small Waterfall in Ailwee Cave

I wasn’t particularly impressed with the Ailwee Cave. I have been to much more impressive cave this was boring by comparison. It was more like an educational trip to a cave. Our guide was trying to keep us interested since he does seem to know alot about the cave. There were some curiosities in the cave and not all of them were old. There was a Santa’s workshop below, obviously targeted to the kids. As we moved further into the cave, the sounds of water became louder. It seems there it a powerful stream of water running inside the cave. I thought, finally something interesting.

It wasn’t that interesting though. The stream turned out to be a waterfall. The water seems to come from the mountain above and the water was substantial enough. There was a walkway built to bring visitors near the waterfall and beyond. It was difficult to see where the water was going as it was too dark to see. The cave floor was hard to see since the waterfall was brightly lit. The ground shouldn’t be that far. It was good that there is a cave here since it would have been too quiet here. I wonder how it was before the walkway was built. I find it difficult to imagine that the cavers knew that there was a waterfall inside the cave.
