I was happy with our visit to Kylemore Abbey. I must admit that the map that was given us was quite misleading. It had several photos of what you thought you might see along the way. It turned out that it was just a map to Kylemore Abbey. It was a longish drive out of Galway, on a good day, it probably would have been worth going there. I would have preferred if it was a beautiful day. Oh well. It was dark when we set out for Galway. The days were shorter now so drove back in the dark. We did remember to have some dinner on the way back.

One of the recommended places was not in Galway city but in a village named Barna. It was not too far from Galway city. Donnelly’s of Barna seems to be a famous place for eating. They specialize in locally caught seafood and we were just craving for some. We were quickly seated here. Somehow, we got a rather private room which was nice but it made attracting the attention of the waiters more difficult.

I naturally had some fish. It was nice and fresh. I can’t remember what kind of fish it was but it was pan fried with some stuffing in it. The dishes come like they are from some fancy restaurant. It has nice presentations as you can see in the photos. While, not cheap, I think the price to pay for good seafood is not that bad. There were a lot of people eating that time which probably attests to the quality of the food here. There was a rather rowdy party that night though but I guess that is what makes it fun.
