We were done exploring the Kylemore Abbey. Although it is a nice mansion, we didn’t really see too much of the abbey part of this place. Strangely enough, there didn’t seem to be a place of worship in the mansion. We decided to follow the trail from the abbey. It runs along the lake shore and it is quite a picturesque walk. The trail will eventually lead to the gardens but I don’t think we have time to go there. Even if we decided to make a go for it, it would be too dark by the time we get there.

However, there was still something to see along the way. There was an impressive Gothic Church along the way. It really seemed to appear out of nowhere. It looked much like those typical Gothic cathedrals in Europe but this was much smaller. Even though it was small, it was still very impressive. There were the requisite stained glass windows and tall arches. I found it impressive to be able to build something like this since Gothic churches tend to be cavernous and yet this one was small. I probably haven’t see a Gothic church as small as this one. I couldn’t find a name for this church. It used to be an Anglican church but it was rededicated as a Catholic church when the Benedictine nuns arrived.
