Walking Through Central Park

I was finally out of the impressive Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. It is one of the largest art museums in the world and it took me a while to go through it. I couldn’t linger even if I didn’t want to since I had another thing in my itinerary. To get there I needed to go through one of the major tourist spots of New York – Central Park. If you look at the map of Manhattan Island, you can see that Central Park is the large, green, rectangular plot of land right in the center of the island. It is the lungs of the city and it is a nice breath of fresh air in this very busy city.

When I saw the size of Central Park, I quickly lost interest in trying to explore it. The park spans a several city blocks lengthwise and we are talking about long city blocks in New York. I didn’t have an interesting exploring that big for now. I would however, would walk through the park to get to my destination. I guess this would be a nice way to catch a glimpse this huge park. Once you are in the park, it would seem that you are in a totally different world since the city would seem so far away. There was greenery all around. The park is really very well maintained. Unsurprisingly, people love to hang out around here. You would see people playing frisbee or baseball. It was probably a nice way to pass the time here or maybe just to get away from it all. I’m glad that despite the astronomical prices of land in Manhattan, the park is kept intact. Part of me thinks, that it is because of the park that land prices are higher in this part.
