The Main Exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art was China: Through the Looking Glass. It was meant to show how Chinese design survives in the modern era. The exhibitions here isn’t terribly big but it merges into the existing galleries on Chinese art. China has one of the oldest civilizations in the world and their contributions have been countless. Like a lot of other civilizations, their style is quite distinctive and a lot of times I would find them quite attractive. It been a small dream of mine to be able to do Chinese water color painting since the scenery they depict have been so beautiful, I had no idea those landscapes were real until I actually visited them.

The rest of the Chinese exhibition focuses of a lot of other forms of Chinese art. A lot of these I have already seen before but they never cease to amaze me. I remember seeing very intricate carvings which appear to be three dimensional. These types of art always impresses me. I was happy to see them there. I probably won’t come here for Chinese art since I have been to a much better one in Shanghai but this is a good place to start. There were a lot of other exhibits but I just went through them quickly.
