Climbing the Brooklyn Bridge

Although the Brooklyn Bridge isn’t a Golden Gate Bridge, it is still an impressive piece of architecture. I have heard of the bridge since I was a kid but I never really saw photos of it. Which made me think that it wasn’t as nice. The Brooklyn Bridge is one of several bridges which connect Manhattan Island to the mainland. It happens to be the most well known one. I was walking on my way back to the subway station when I realized that I could have one more activity here at the Brooklyn Bridge. I remember seeing photos of people walking on the bridge. I think that is something I would like to do. First I needed to find where to climb it.

From where I was at the Brooklyn Park, the Brooklyn Bridge was so high up and that there was no visible stairs to climb the bridge. I thought that the stairs, if it exists, have to be near the foot of the bridge. I started to make my way to the foot of the bridge. I realize that parts of the way back are quite dark and it made me a little nervous. Nothing really happened though, I managed to find a sign which pointed me to the Brooklyn Bridge entrance. It was right under the bridge itself and you walk a flight of stairs and suddenly emerge at the center island of the Brooklyn Bridge. Visitors will be high above street level so there was no danger of visitors getting in the way of traffic.
