I was loving the American Museum of Natural History. I quickly stumbled into the Rose Center for Earth and Space which featured a model of the solar system as well as a planetarium in the “sun”. I moved on to another part of the museum which is one of the most well known parts and that is the lobby. Upon seeing the lobby I remembered that I have seen pictures or movies featuring this place. The lobby has two dinosaur skeletons. If there is another thing which fascinated me when I was a kid, it was dinosaurs. Well, I guess most kids would be fascinated by dinosaurs.

From the photos, I remember seeing a T-Rex but this wasn’t one. At least I think it isn’t one. The skeleton far too small to be one. My guess was that it was a velociraptor or its relatives. The velociraptor ws in mid-stride almost like it was hunting. But I may be mistaken, as I turned around, I realize the velociraptor might be running. Running away from what? On the opposite side of the lobby, there was another skeleton and this was one of those herbivorous dinosaurs, probably and apatosaurus or dipolodocus, hard to tell the skeletons since I’m not a paleontologist.

The apatosaurus was massive as how one might have seen it in Jurassic Park. The pose of the apatosaurus was one where it is standing on its hind legs. I still feel strange about this pose since the heavy build of the apatosaurus might not have allowed it to do something like that. After all, how often to you see cows do that. Besides, with the very long neck of the apatosaurus, it might be difficult to pump blood to the brain and it might pass out if it did this pose for to long. I’m no paleontologist but I guess it is still impressive to see one of the largest land animals to ever walk the earth do that.
