Masonic Temple at Philadelphia

I wasn’t really sure which way to go but the first place which attracted me here in Philadelphia was the LOVE Park. However, I didn’t come to Philadelphia to look at a park. I know that Philadelphia has a rich history and I want to be able to see it. I found out that I wasn’t in the right side of the city. The historic side was where I came from, so I needed to walk back towards the bus station. I didn’t need a map here since there were a lot of signs here pointing the way to the historic sights. I have a vague idea of where the bus station is so I didn’t have to worry about getting lost.

As I was walking back, I notice an impressive church structure. I was trying to find out what church it was but it turned out to be a Masonic Temple. I didn’t know much about the masons and that the temples looked much like Christian churches except they weren’t. The temple didn’t seem to be open when I was there so I was just taking photos from the outside. I was really is an impressive structure and I guess it is also a testament to the importance of this group since the temple is located across the street from city hall. The temple was built in 1873 quite recent compared to European history.
