Beach at Ards Forest Park

When I first heard of the Ards Forest Park, I was imagining it to be just a forest with numerous trails dotting the park. However, I didn’t know that it was right beside the water and it had a lot of beautiful seascapes. I got a chance to go here on a beautiful day and I was rewarded with spectacular scenery. I head down to the beach I was at previously to take photos of the deserted beach. I was have happy with the scenery here since the beach itself was pristine and the water was crystal clear. I tried heading over to the other end of the beach the previous day but the trail I took way very rocky and it was dangerous when it was wet. I decided prudence was the better part of valor and called it a day. Today, I will be taking a different route.

I found a path behind the beach and it took me through the forest. The trail seemed to be used so I didn’t really worry about getting lost a la Hansel and Gretel. I did try to remember the way back just to make sure since it won’t be good to lose my way in a forest. GPS doesn’t map forest trails here and the mobile signal isn’t good here, better safe than sorry. I managed to find a main walking trail and was following it to see where it lead. The trail is well marked here but I had no idea where it leads. I guess there is only one way to find out.
