Exploring Crohy

Isolated Cove at Crohy

Isolated Cove at Crohy

After climbing up a hill at Crohy, I seemed to end up at the end of the earth. The area was very sparsely populated with a few farms here and there. The road here is still rough and only wide enough for a car at a time. However, the views here are spectacular. The day was already very beautiful which only added to the overall scenery. Stormy weather has its place in photography but I usually prefer my photos sunny especially when it comes to beaches. I like how the blue sky reflects off the water and how it produces that remote tropical island paradise scene. Except that it is not a tropical island. This is in Crohy near Dungloe. While the waters are inviting, it would not want to take a dip since the waters are still cold even in summer.

What I like about visiting these places here in Ireland is that most of the time, there would only be a few people visiting, or even only you there. I seem to be the only tourist that time and I was enjoying the views here. It was a bit awkward to explore since I didn’t know where to park the car at times. I would get out of the car then walk a bit to take photos and take the car again. It was like this because I didn’t really know how much further I needed to go. I guess that is part of the enjoyment of going to places like these here.
