Waters Near Ballintoy
We suffered another delay in following our itinerary since we took a bit more time touring the Old Bushmills Distillery. It was getting late in the afternoon and we were nowhere near half of our plan. I don’t think we can complete this in one afternoon. It is a good plan for another day. We decided to just head to the next destination before calling it a day. The next destination isn’t that far. It was just a short drive away. It was supposed to be part of the Game of Thrones film location tour. To fans of the series, this town is the site for the town of Lordsport in the island of Pyke.
Small Islands Near Ballintoy
I guess it is easy enough to find film locations like these in this area since the general area is sparsely populated. There is a small fishing community here and for the duration of the filming the people were asked to dock their boats somewhere else, for a fee of course. Naturally, it would not have been easy to gain access to the site even if you knew there was filming going on in the area. We had the car crawl down a steep road down to the harbor area to be able to get to the parking area. We noticed that there were houses built along the slopes of the hill. This probably makes for a good view if the weather is good. If you ask me, the location is too remote and too depressing for me to choose to live in a place like this.
