Amazing Cliffs at Tory Island

I was astounded with the beauty of the cliffs here at Tory Island. I knew what to expect when we said we were heading to see cliffs instead of seeing the lighthouse but actually seeing feels really different. Tory island bears the brunt of the Altantic waves and it has produced some amazing sea cliffs. There are numerous warnings here that tell visitors to be careful since the ground is not that solid here. It is possible that the rock underneath you has already been eroded far enough that it can collapse anytime soon. I try not to think about such scenarios but it is kind of hard not to, especially when you can actually see how some parts have become just a platform sticking out into the rocks or sea below.

Nevertheless, we risk our lives to continue to explore this beautiful landscape. I think this was a much better option that walking along the road. I wonder why our tour guide never told us to head straight there instead of wasting time along the road. I’m not sure what I missed along that stretch but I already like what I can see. Walking near the coast showed us more of the same. I don’t think can get tired of seeing such places and I’m glad that these kinds of places are quite convenient for me to get to. Now, if only the weather was like this all the time.
