Beautiful View from the Fanad Drive in County Donegal

It was another beautiful weekend here in Ireland. I can’t remember having to pay attention to the weather as much as I have ever since coming here. The problem here is the you can’t really plan too far ahead here since you won’t know if the weather would be good. Just because it is summer doesn’t mean it won’t be raining as I have gotten used to. The best you can probably do it check the weather for the next few days and you probably get a good approximation of what it would be like. Though most of the time it would be cloudy and isolated showers. You would be lucky if you get a good day of sunshine here.

Well it seemed to be one of those days that I would be good to go on a road trip to explore the beautiful countryside of Donegal. I do have issues with Donegal being a bit inaccessible but that has instead brought me to closer to the beauty of the Donegal countryside which is one of the most unspoilt in the country. Our trip today would be bringing us to the north of the country. There is this thing called the Wild Altantic Way, and it is basically a collection of driving routes which bring you to various spectacular parts of the western coast of the country. Contrary to what I imagined, the Wild Altantic Way is composed of existing roads, the name was just a tourism marketing thing which they came up with. Marketing or not, it seems like it worked on me and my wanderlust has been triggered to explore parts of this route. Fanad Drive one of the routes which we will be taking, hopefully we would be able to explore other parts of the Wild Atlantic Way in the future.
