Going to Dunluce Castle

A Look at Dunluce Castle in County Antrim

We decided to go on a trip exploring a part of Northern Ireland. It wasn’t really that far from where we were and it took us around two hours to get to county Antrim. The interesting part for me is the coastal area where they have amazing scenery. I’m quite sure that I have already seen scenery of a similar nature here in Ireland. It seems that Ireland has an unfairly large number of beautiful places. Coastal scenery seems to be dime a dozen. Another thing they seem to have here are castles. Our first place to visit would be both, a castle which is built on the coast – Dunluce Castle.

I have read material about a Game of Thrones tour of Northern Ireland, and although I don’t watch the series, I am very interested to see these castles which seem to be a short distance away from where we were. We won’t be doing the Game of Thrones tour though, that should be a visit for another day but we have other beautiful places to see here. Dunluce Castle, doesn’t seem to be part of the Game of Thrones tour but it is one of the most interesting places to see here in Northern Ireland. We were in the country Antrim specifically in the village of Bushmills. Now, the definition of a village here seems to be very broad as it seems to cover a very wide area. Dunluce Castle is one of the places you will see on your way to Bushmills. You will undoubtedly see it on your way to the Giant’s Causeway, which is probably the most well known site here. Entry to the castle is quite modest and I was quite excited to go in there. The weather here seems to be much better than where we came from so I need to make the most of this.
