Keep Pushing Forward to the Top of the Cliffs at Slieve League in County Donegal

One would probably need a lot more time to properly explore Slieve League. There isn’t a real fixed itinerary when coming here since a lot of the sightseeing here would be self exploration. There isn’t any real fixed “end” the path exploring Slieve League and even when we were already turning back, we can still see a lot of people in the distance. I think they were going to the highest point here. None of us didn’t have any proper walking shoes with us even though we knew that we were coming here. Actually, I was under the impression that Slieve League was popular enough to get its own nicely paved path.

You Can See a Lot of County Donegal From Here

You Can See a Lot of County Donegal From Here

There was no such thing, and that is probably for the better. I like how a lot of Ireland’s natural sights can be explored on your own and for free. Sure there will be a few sights which need an entrance fee but places like these are just as appealing to me. Now, if only I could walk up these mountains without breaking sweat. We stopped to chat with someone who was taking a break and it seems that he too was turning back. His companions have pushed on without him. We were told that it takes about three hours for a round trip to the top of cliffs, I wasn’t sure how good a condition you need to be in but I would think that is something which is doable. If only it weren’t so cold to walk here. From the top of that view point you can see the Atlantic and the rest of the lowlands on the other side. Perhaps next time I visit this place, I will allocate more time to climbing to the top.
