Tram in Rome

Inside the Rome Tram

We were already done with our night shots or rather, my friends were already complaining about being tired so it was time to head back to the apartment. We had a very busy day of exploring Rome. It is truly a magnificent city and I hope I would be able to explore more of it. It would probably be nice to live here but I don’t think they have work for people of my occupation, at least not in Rome. It was time for us to head back to our apartment when we came upon the tram line. This was one thing which we haven’t tried yet so we decided to give the tram a try. The trouble with this is that although it does have a route, we weren’t really very familiar with the place names and how close it was to where we wanted to go. I didn’t have a map with me so we would have to try to figure it out.

Turns out that tram near the Vatican City goes to Lepanto, the metro stop we get off at to get to the apartment. We just needed to wait for the train and remember when to get off. There was a train parked at the stop but we needed to wait for the driver since he was on a break. The tram itself was not very big. It travels on street level. This seems to be a common theme in European cities. Most of the trains I have been to in Asia were either above ground or below ground. You just need to tap your ticket on the sensor. But it didn’t seem to work at that time so I think we got a free ride. I don’t think it cost that much in the first place. It was a fun ride, it wasn’t terribly fast but at least you get to see Rome from a new point of view.
