Saint Peter’s Basilica at Night

We didn’t really have a lot of places to go to that night. I just wanted some night shots of Rome. I know that a lot of the monuments of Rome would be lit up at night so I was worth a visit. We went back to the Castel Sant’Angelo where we took some night shots. It was refreshing to be there since there weren’t a lot of people anymore. The Castel Sant’Angelo is very close to Saint Peter’s Basilica and was on the way home, so we had to drop by.

My friend was saying how we had to visit several places three times. True enough, we visited the Sagrada Familia, the Eiffel Tower and now Saint Peter’s Basilica thrice. It was mostly due to circumstances like no tickets, queuing up for the tickets and finally visiting. In this case, we went back to Saint Peter’s Basilica to take photos of the basilica at night. It was refreshing to see Saint Peter’s Square devoid of people. There were a few wandering about but nowhere as crowded as that morning. The main basilica building and the dome was lit up and it was very visible from afar. For a place as massive as this place, it would not be easy to light it up. I didn’t have a tripod with me so I hope that the shots would turn out okay.
