Incredible Art at the Rooms of the Vatican Museum

When I was visiting the Palace of Versailles, I can’t remember how many times I was saying “wow” each time I visit a room. The Vatican Museum isn’t as massive as the Palace of Versailles but the art inside the museum can be on par with the palace. As far as I was concerned, this place looks like a palace and it probably served as one before. Back in the day, popes had political power and even commanded armies but the popes now serve a more spiritual role although the Vatican’s influence is still very strong. However, the Vatican Museum, is a surprisingly old museum having started in the 1600s. The art collection grew from one single statue to what it is right now, and it sort of serves as a repository for a lot of Renaissance and Baroque art.

Much like the Palace of Versailles, we would go from one room to another and be amazed at the room itself. It is not very often that the room itself is part of the exhibition but it helps keep the people visiting evenly distributed. Most of the paintings here in the rooms are religious in theme. With various depictions of different parts of the life of Jesus Christ. Naturally, there were also depictions of popes. I guess I would prefer this than the ones at the Palace of Versailles only because I would be more familiar with the personalities depicted in the paintings.
