Going Inside Saint Peter’s Basilica

We were finally over and done with the dome of Saint Peter’s Basilica. I was glad that we kind of stumbled into the way to the top of the basilica as I wasn’t really aware that it was possible to go up the dome itself. Going down the dome basically retraces our way up. Going down what is seemingly an endless flight of stairs can be hard on the knees as well, so take your time going down, you don’t get to visit this place that often. Visitors to the basilica itself usually go through the front door, unsurprisingly, there were a lot of people in the basilica, but the church is so large that it didn’t really feel very crowded.

What surprised me what that the church wasn’t really that bright inside. I think the church to window ratio wasn’t very good. The church is so massive the it was difficult to light up the church that well. There are guides on how to visit the basilica properly but I won’t be going through them. I will probably take my time to explore this place but my friends have already been to numerous churches in this trip. This is probably one of the most spectacular ones which we will visit so hopefully, this would be worth their while.
