Arrival at Murano Island

A Look at Murano Island

A Look at Murano Island

There were two major islands which are quite well known here in Venice and we intend to visit both of them. The vaporetto map at the railway station will tell you how to get there. We chose to go to Murano Island first, for no particular reason. Murano island, isn’t a large island, and we would be able to explore this place in a few hours. Much like Venice this is also a water town. One can think of this place as a quieter version of Venice. Our first stop is the Venier vaporetto stop in Murano island. There are numerous vaporetto stops on the island, it would be helpful to keep in mind where you want to go so you don’t end up wasting time finding the vaporetto stop.

Much to my delight, there were not hordes of tourists here at Murano Island. Of course, it is entirely possible that the hordes of tourists were already in another part of the island. However, from the looks of it, it seems that this place doesn’t get the same amount of attention that Venice itself gets. This is good, while I do not expect that the island won’t be touristy, at least it is much quieter and hopefully, we can get to see the people and how they live on this island.
