I was very pleased that we were able to see the acqua alta in action. It didn’t seem to be as bad as the pictures I have seen online. But then again, the height of the water would be dependent to several factors including the time of the month and year. We head back to the hotel to tell our other companions about this phenomenon. This time, we did not have any problem going back to the hotel, we basically followed the Ferrovia signs back to the train station, from there it is just a short walk back. Our friends were green with envy since we got to see such a rare phenomenon. All they can see were photos.

The next day was going to be a busy day. So we got up quite early to get ready. There were a few of us in the room so waiting for the bathroom was not very easy. We wanted breakfast to be quick we didn’t want to walk all over town to find a place to eat. The cafe below the hostel was good enough, they provided us with breakfast vouchers so we would eat there. I ended up with a cup of hot chocolate and a croissant. I loved the hot chocolate as it was quite rich. It is great that you can easily get good chocolate drinks here in Europe where in other places the only options would be coffee. The cafe also served other stuff which guests would be interested in.
